Mommy: During life group this last week you were playing and interacting with people, like normal. At one point Daddy was opening the Bible to read and discuss some verses and he explained that we were going to open the word of God now and we were going to be "Diggin' in the word of God," a phrase from the Crosspoint VBS song you love.
Fast forward to when I was trying to put you to sleep while life group was still going on. You were doing some of your usual stalling techniques. Finally we closed the door with a child lock on it and you were crying and crying. After I figured you had tired yourself out (and I was heartbroken from your cries and imagining that feeling of being stuck or locked in), I went in to move you from away from the door and into bed. You calmed down pretty quickly after I hugged you and placed you back in bed. Then, with a wave of your outstretched hand towards the door, you said, "Go. Read the word." I followed your directions and you quietly fell asleep.
